In this guide, we will explain how to seamlessly extract data from Zoom into Power BI for analysis and report creation.
Steps for App Installation
Step 1 - Create an Account
Visit https://versich-connectors.azurewebsites.net/ to create your account. Ensure you use an accessible email address when registering, as a connection string will be sent to it once your data is connected.
Step 2 - Link Your Database
After logging in, select “Zoom” from the side menu to access the installation menu. Here, enter the specifications for the database that will receive the data. If you don’t have a database, simply check the “Use Versich Database” box before clicking “Install” at the bottom of the screen. This initiates an automatic process to set up a database within the Versich Azure account.
Step 3 - Link Your Zoom Account
Once your database is established, you will be redirected to the menu where you can authenticate your organization. Click on “add new company” followed by “connect to Zoom.” A new window will appear where you can log in to your Zoom account. Enter your username and password, then click on “allow” to grant access to your data. The permissions provided will allow data extraction without the ability to modify or input new information in your account. The complete list of permissions is as follows:
If you experience any errors or difficulties during these steps, please consult our support team. This completes the installation. Your data will then be extracted to your database automatically, refreshing at four-hour intervals.
Integrating Power BI with Your Database
Click on “Send database credentials string” to receive the necessary details for your database connection. An email will be sent to the registered address containing these details. Use them to extract your data into Power BI. In Power BI, navigate to “get data” -> “Azure SQL Server” and input the provided details for the connection. You can then access any table from your database. Just choose the required table and click “Load” at the bottom of the navigator menu in Power BI.
Uninstalling the App
To unlink your Zoom data from our application, navigate to the “Install” tab and select the “Disconnect” button. This action will terminate our access to your Zoom data, halting data refreshes. Nonetheless, your information will still reside in the database you connected to. To delete all data associated with your connected database, select the “Remove Installation” button. This will eliminate all Zoom-related tables from your database.
